Rose Douglas, Business Office Manager

For more than 10 years, Rose Douglas has been the Business Office Manager at Bishop Davies Nursing Center. Rose and her staff work with residents and their families to coordinate billing and other financial related matters. Rose is committed to assisting our potential residents in navigating through the process of nursing home funding, and is considered to be an expert at Medicare and Medicaid billing.

Rose will tell you that she “Grew up in a nursing home,” as her mother worked as a nurse in a nursing home in Madison, Wisconsin when she was a child. On the weekends, Rose and her sister would visit the nursing home and Rose has very fond memories of playing card games with the residents. She also remembers spending hours talking to seniors and, even as a child, recognized the importance of the knowledge and wisdom she gained from those conversations. Rose considers her mother to be the greatest influence on her career, and found it comforting that, when her mother needed nursing home care, she chose Bishop Davies Nursing Center to care for her.

Rose moved to Texas in the early 1980’s and loves all of the fishing and outdoor activities that this area offers. She has two daughters, Tammy and Michelle, and two grandsons, Sammy and Isaac. Rose enjoys interior decorating and traveling. One of her favorite travel destinations is Miami, Florida because of the great deep sea fishing offered in that area.
