Mary Perry, Assistant Administrator

Mary PerryMary Perry works as an Assistant Administrator and Human Resources Manager at Bishop Davies Nursing Center. Mary holds a degree in Long Term Care Administration from the University of North Texas and for almost six years, has used her wisdom and attention to detail to coordinate care for our residents and ensure that our facility is the best that it can be. In a Human Resources capacity, Mary oversees the hiring of new staff members as well as their training, ensures that the nurses in the facility have their state licensing up to date, and coordinates in-service training at the facility. In addition, Mary oversees a monthly quality assurance meeting, where all of the departments within the nursing center review all of our systems to ensure that they are working and to ask, “What can we do better?”

Mary considers herself to be an advocate for the residents at the facility and holds the belief that each person in a nursing home should be treated as you would treat a family member. In fact, when Mary’s mother Myrtis needed inpatient rehabilitation care, she became a valued resident at Bishop Davies. Mary has also recommended Bishop Davies Nursing Center to many of her friends and neighbors, and feels comfort in knowing that they will be well cared for.

Mary has been married to Jim, a Hospice Chaplain, for 30 years and is the mother of six grown children, Kelley, Tracy, Sherry, Lisa, Rick, and Melissa. Mary also has twelve grandchildren and enjoys the lively gatherings that having a large family affords. Having grown up in the Ft. Worth/Richland Hills area has given Mary very strong ties to the community, she and Jim are very involved in their church and have a deep commitment to their faith. Mary enjoys spending time with her family and visiting antique shops with her husband. She also enjoys traveling, with some favorite vacation spots in Arkansas and Colorado, she is currently planning a trip to Europe.
