Marlene Butz, Charge Nurse
Marlene Butz has been a valued member of our staff for almost a quarter century. As a charge nurse, her work involves a lot of resident interaction while distributing medicine, carrying out treatments, and communicating with resident’s doctors and family members. In her words, her work keeps her “busy, busy, busy.”
Marlene believes that there are several qualities that make her a great nurse; some of those are her caring and compassion for the elderly, and her eye for detail and organization. Since very early in her career, Marlene knew that helping the elderly and keeping them company was her calling as those things make her very happy. Her good nature and contagious laugh make residents, and other staff members, smile. Marlene’s eye for detail and order aid in her career because she “likes her residents and her rooms clean, neat, and tidy.”
Her career at Bishop Davies is not the only long-term relationship in Marlene’s life, she and her husband Fred recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. Together, they have three children and six grandchildren. Marlene enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, and riding motorcycles. She also enjoys watching football, and as a Wisconsin native, roots for the Green Bay Packers.
