Julie Boyer, Director of Rehabilitation
Julie Boyer is the Director of our Rehabilitation facility, and has worked at Bishop Davies Nursing Center for seven years. Before joining us at Bishop Davies, Julie worked as a Speech Pathologist for eight years after receiving her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Arkansas.
In the Rehabilitation Department, Julie manages a therapy staff who work with patients on an outpatient and inpatient basis. Many of their patients are recovering from strokes, fractures, knee replacements, motor vehicle accidents, pneumonia, or other accidents and illnesses that have caused a deficit and created a need for rehabilitation. Julie is very proud to point out that her facility is a uniquely large and well equipped facility within a nursing home setting and is happy to organize “real world” rehabilitation activities in the full kitchen and restroom that are part of the space.
Seeing people get better and go home is a favorite part of Julie’s job, as it is the goal of rehabilitation to help patients regain their mobility and independence. Julie will tell you that her career choice was a perfect match for her nurturing personality and how it provides her with a sense of being and purpose. Julie's love for her profession causes her to wake up each morning looking forward to her work day.
Julie has been married to Chris for eight years, and is the mother of Brooke and Alayna. She is proud to come from a family with strong military ties; her mother, father, brothers, and husband all served our country. In her free time Julie enjoys gardening, cake decorating, and watching her girls play soccer.
