Bobby Gardner is a long-time member of our Environmental Services team and has been employed at Bishop Davies Nursing Center for 28 years. As an Environmental Technician, her work involves the daily cleaning of resident rooms and other areas of the center. In the resident’s rooms, Bobby cleans the restroom, sweeps and mops the floor, cleans all of the mirrors and windows, then dusts and polishes fixtures. While doing that, she makes a point of talking to “her” residents and will do small things, like water their flowers, for them.

Bobby calls Bishop Davies Center her “home away from home” and enjoys her job, her coworkers, and the residents so much that after deciding to retire she came back to work after only one year off the job!

Bobby has been married to Joe for 53 years, together they have four children and one grandchild with “one on the way.” Outside of work, Bobby loves to go fishing and calls Texas City a favorite vacation spot because of the great deep sea fishing in the area. Bobby also enjoys watching the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys games on television, quilting and embroidery, and collecting recipes for her cookbooks.
