Hospice services are available at Bishop Hospice.
End of life issues affect not only the patient, but also the patient's family. Hospice care assists residents, families and staff with end-of-life issues. Bishop Hospice LLC was created to provide compassionate, high quality, value driven end of life care.
What is hospice?
Hospice affirms life and regards dying as a normal process.
Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death.
Hospice is:
- Care and comfort, not curative.
- Quality vs. quantity of life.
- Care for the family as well as the patient.
- Emotional, spiritual, and practical support based on the patient's wishes and family's needs.
Patient Care
Bishop Hospice LLC services may be provided to patients in nursing homes, private residences and hospitals.
These services may include:
- Physician services
- Nursing services
- Medical social services
- Bereavement spiritual counseling
- Medical equipment supplies
- Routine home care
- Inpatient respite
- Pharmacy
- Nutritional counseling
- Patient/family counseling
- Continuous home care
- Volunteers
How do I qualify for hospice services?
Any person who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and has a life expectancy of six months or less is eligible.
Who pays for hospice services?
Hospice services are paid for by Medicare Part A, Medicaid, and most private insurances.
