Physical Therapy

Inpatient and outpatient physical therapy is the cornerstone of the rehabilitation experience for those being treated at Bishop Davies Nursing Center.

Patients who are experiencing pain or movement dysfunction as a result of an accident, disability, or disease find that our top-notch physical therapists can help to minimize their pain and maximize their functional potential.

This is done by preparing an individualized treatment plan that will give them back their strength, mobility, and independence.

The first step in a successful physical therapy plan is the assessment of the patient. This is done by measuring the following:

• Joint Motion and mobility
• Muscle Strength and Endurance
• Function of Heart and Lungs
• Performance of Activities of Daily living

Following the patient’s assessment, a treatment plan is prepared, and physical therapy treatment begins. This includes:

• Therapeutic Exercise
• Modailities
• Manual Therapies

Throughout the course of physical therapy treatment, the following goals are how we measure the performance of the therapy:

• Decrease Pain
• Improve Mobility, Strength, Endurance, Balance and Range
• Patient/family Education
